Reports to: Director, Development

Classification: Full-time

Term: Ongoing

Compensation: $85,000 annually plus Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k Matching, PTO, Paid Holidays, as well as organization-wide days of Collective Rest.

Location: Palm Springs

 

The Position

The Center is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager, Individual Philanthropy to expand our individual giving programs. This role is responsible for building and managing a portfolio of donors, focusing on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual gifts. The Senior Manager will play a key role in growing The Ocotillo Club, enhancing our Legacy Giving program, and supporting fundraising events to strengthen donor engagement and community impact.

 

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a low- to mid-level donor portfolio, building lasting relationships through personalized cultivation and stewardship.
  • Design and implement strategies to increase individual giving, focusing on upgrading current donors and acquiring new supporters.
  • Conduct donor research, prepare solicitation materials, and make direct solicitations in collaboration with the Director of Development and leadership.
  • Drive growth and engagement within The Ocotillo Club, The Center’s premier giving society, by recruiting new members and deepening relationships with existing members.
  • Assist with the planning and executing of donor appreciation and cultivation events to enhance the experience of Ocotillo Club members and major donors.
  • Promote and expand Legacy Giving, educating donors about planned giving opportunities and helping them align their philanthropic goals with The Center’s mission.
  • Work with estate planners, attorneys, and financial advisors to facilitate planned gifts.
  • Steward existing legacy donors and ensure proper recognition and engagement.
  • Support fundraising efforts for major events, including The Center Stage Gala, Red Dress Dress Red, donor receptions, and exclusive engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the events and communications teams to create meaningful experiences that inspire donor investment.
  • Assist in securing sponsorships and underwriting to enhance event fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and execute personalized stewardship plans to ensure long-term donor retention and increased giving.
  • Create compelling impact reports, donor recognition materials, and updates that demonstrate the value of their contributions.
  • Utilize donor database (CRM) to track relationships, record interactions, and analyze giving trends.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on individual giving, donor relations, or major gifts.
  • Proven track record of soliciting and securing individual gifts, with experience cultivating donors at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of planned giving and ability to communicate its benefits to potential donors.
  • Experience managing donor programs, exclusive giving societies, and fundraising events.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in donor database management (experience with CRM systems preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
