The Center is excited to announce our new class, “Understanding Music,” led by our music teacher Eric Pytryga!
Have you ever heard someone say they like a painting but don’t understand art, or dislike a piece of music without knowing much about it? People rarely say they don’t understand books, even though they might notice if a style is old-fashioned or translated. We trust our reading skills to appreciate literature, so why not apply the same confidence to music?
This class is designed for both musicians and non-musicians. It covers basic music theory and a survey of music history, including jazz and rock, helping you to enjoy and understand music more deeply.
Contact Eric, the instructor, to see if it’s a good fit for you…more than anything else: we’re gonna have a blast!
