LGBTQ+ Legal Services
The attorneys at SBEMP LLP recognize the unique legal issues that members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities face. We represent LGBTQ+ clients throughout the State of California on a wide range of issues.
Among the areas that SBEMP attorneys can assist LGBTQ+ clients with include various estate planning, real estate, and business issues, as well as matters affecting LGBTQ+ families specifically. Our estate planning department helps with the creation of wills, trusts and other estate planning documents, and advises on wider issues affecting our clients’ wishes for the future. Our family law department can help design agreements to protect children and the family’s assets through community property and separate property agreements. When challenges arise, our family law department can also help LGBTQ+ families with divorces, separations, establishing and modifying a parenting plan, establishing child support, and petitioning for a step-parent or second-parent adoption.
SBEMP is committed to protecting and advising members of the LGBTQ+ community in a respectful, sensitive, and affirming manner. Our attorneys, including representatives of the LGBTQ+ community, have proudly served as Board members for Desert Aids Project and the Human Rights Campaign and are active in issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
