Participants will study and realize the importance of geometric shapes in creating works. Artists studied will include: Lili Elbe, Giorgio Morandi, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, David Hockney and Pablo Picasso. Each of these artists saw the beauty in the simplicity of geometric shapes.
3 or 4 canvases (16×20)
Acrylic brushes (flat and angular) (1.5 inch, 1 inch, .5 inch)
Acrylic paint – 4 oz. tubes (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, black, brown, ochre, 8 oz. white)
There are many different shades of the same color. Choose what appeals to you.
A coffee can or plastic container for water. A rag to clean brushes.
Tony Mosca (he/him): Tony has studied Art since the age of five. A native New Yorker, he was surrounded by the museums in Manhattan. His travels to Europe, Asia, Africa and here in the USA have broadened that art experience. He has studied with renowned painters, photographers and sculptors giving him a varied lens on creating Art. He has shown in New York City, the Berkshires and in Paris. He belongs to The Desert Art Center and The Coachella Water Color Society where he shows his work throughout the year. His work can be viewed at tonymosca.com.
