L-Fund Education Assistance Program (LEAP)
The L-Fund at The Center recognizes that education is a powerful tool for advancing personal and professional goals and improving overall quality of life. Through LEAP, grants are available to cis, trans, and queer-identifying lesbians needing assistance for continuing education courses, certification programs, trade or vocational schools, community colleges, and universities. LEAP grants can be used for tuition, computers, books, school fees, ESL classes, health insurance, and living expenses.
Applicants must reside in the Coachella Valley or surrounding area.
LEAP applicants must provide:
- A statement outlining how a LEAP grant will be used and how it will support the applicant’s long-term personal or professional goals.
- A letter of reference
The L-Fund grant application process has five stages:
- Applicant submits an introductory application.
- Applicant submits a more formal application and supplemental materials.
- Applicant participates in a personal interview
- The L-Fund reviews the complete application
- If approved, a signed letter of acceptance is sent to the applicant and payment is made to the service provider. Payments are never paid directly to applicants.
