Counseling Services

*By Appointment Only*

Welcome to Behavioral Health @ The Center. If you are interested in starting therapy, the first step is to schedule an assessment with one of our therapists. If you would like to be put on the assessment waitlist, please send an email request to Mike Martin at mmartin@thecentercv.org or call (760) 281-2613.

Our therapeutic services are for current California residents only. After you have been assigned a clinician, you will receive an phone/email confirmation and access to our consent and intake forms. These forms must be completed prior to your initial appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact your clinician directly at least 24 hours in advance.

Our Sliding Scale pricing structure attempts to take historical inequities into account when considering pricing for a service provided. The guidelines we’ve developed have been done so with care and thoughtfulness to continue providing quality behavioral health services for everyone. Payment is due at the conclusion of a therapy session. Session fees are determined based on the below fee schedule.

We do not accept insurance at this time.

As a community clinic, we do not have the resources to provide immediate services.

If you need someone to speak with right away, click here for a list of crisis services, call 911, or the National Suicide & Crisis hotline at 988.

The Scott Hines Behavioral Health Clinic is a clinical training site for pre-licensed master’s and doctorate level therapists under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Our goal is to educate and train clinicians to work competently and effectively with members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. The clinic’s foundational approach is LGBTQ+ Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Clinicians are formerly trained in this model alongside other evidence-based modalities that best suit the needs of our community.

Depression is hard and it is real. If you are 60 years old or older, anxious, depressed, or isolated, and live in Riverside County, you may qualify to see our counseling staff at no cost through our evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) program for late life depression. To qualify for this program, potential clients must meet certain criteria that will be evaluated by your assigned clinician. You will meet for an assessment with a provider to identify your specific needs and determine appropriate services that best meet those needs. If deemed eligible for our CBT program, you will be enrolled in our no-cost CBT program. If you do not qualify, your clinician will discuss other options with you for low-cost therapy.
