In the past few years, major transformational events have had a significant impact over our society and collective experience, affecting directly how we envision our program offerings. The development of new ideas is a crucial component for The Center to meet the needs of our community.
Our program facilitators are an integral part of meeting our mission by sharing their individual lived experiences in our spaces across the Coachella Valley. The program proposal application process has been revised to embrace those changes, including the use of online tools (i.e., Zoom) and other untapped ways to build community.
Since 2017, The Center has had three strategic initiatives to guide the development of our programs and services, and we ask that new programs applicants tell us how they will address one or more of these initiatives, which continue to guide our focus:
- Ending isolation and loneliness,
- Connecting people to resources and community, and
- Enriching our individual and collective experiences.
