Dr. Jill Hingston is a Health Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC #50487). Her research and dissertation topic focused on the impact of parental support on the health behaviors of transgender young adults. After her undergrad years, Jill lived in China for a year, traveling and studying Mandarin Chinese. Twelve years later, she returned to China and adopted her daughter. Prior to working at The Center, Jill served as the Program Director of a local inpatient psychiatric facility for five years, working with the severely and chronically mentally ill. Going to underage queer spaces in high school, she knew at 17 years of age that she wanted to work with young people in the LGBTQ+ community. But being a bit of a dreamer and interested in everything, it took two other careers and two decades to get here. Jill’s specialty is working with transgender youth and their families, which she has been doing since 2008.
