Stay mentally sharp and physically stable. The class design is for older adults noticing memory issues and/or balance challenges. The exercises promote blood flow to the brain, create the birth of new neurons in the memory and learning center, and re pattern responses in fall risk scenarios.
Lynn Simonson is excited to offer her Better Brain & Balance class at The Center. Lynn previously taught Senior Exercise and Chair Yoga at The Center from 2013-2021. She is thrilled to return ‘home’. As an instructor, Lynn holds six certifications in Senior Fitness and Balance programs, including Dance for Parkinson’s. The last few years, her Better Brain & Balance class has received sponsorship from Desert Oasis Health Care. Lynn has spent her lifetime teaching internationally as a respected educator of jazz dance. She is the creator of Simonson Technique, an organic approach to movement, that prepares the body to dance in a way that is anatomically intelligent and somatically aware. She directs yearly certification programs for dance teachers, and for those wanting to teach older adults.
Monthly pay: $40 for The Center Members | $50 Non-Members
Pay per class (Drop-In): $15 per class
