About The Event

Recommended textbook: Easy Spanish Step-by-Step by Barbara Bregstein, available on Amazon ($13.90).

This is an Intermediate/Advanced Spanish course. We will have lots of review in chapter 8 and begin on chapter 9. Prior knowledge of verb conjugation (present tense), including stem-changers and irregular and plain old weird verbs is helpful. You should be comfortable with word order variations, such as: me gustan las fiestas.

Can you express:

“I want to go home early tomorrow”? (quiero ir a casa temprano mañana) (chapter 6) * stem-changing verbs

“I’m going to come back soon”? (voy a regresar pronto or voy a volver pronto) (chapter 7) * false future with “ir + a “

“I have to go now but am going to come back”? (tengo que ir ahora pero voy a regresar) (chapter 7) *expressions with tener

“She is taller than I”. (Chapter 8) * comparisons

Students should understand how verbs conjugate in Spanish present tense, and have some basic vocabulary proficiency.

Facilitator

Dixie Kanold is a certified Spanish teacher who has lived in both Mexico and Spain. Her graduate studies include Child Language Acquistion Research, that is, how the brain actually acquires language.

That research informs the teaching strategies used in Ms. Kanold’s classes. She also teaches with the goal of 100% engagement from her students at all times through activities, dialogues, and interactions.
